Dr Felistas Mashinya

MSc (Medical Microbiology), PhD (Health Sciences): Founder and Managing Director

Dr Mashinya obtained a General Diploma (Medical Laboratory Sciences); Specialist Diploma (Bacteriology including Mycology); MSc (Medical Microbiology) and Post Graduate Diploma (Management for Executives) all from the University of Zimbabwe. She went on to obtain her PhD from the University of Limpopo in 2016. Dr Mashinya has also obtained the following qualifications:

  1. Project Management (University of Cape Town)
  2. Strengthening Postgraduate Supervision (Rhodes University)
  3. Higher Education Assessment and Moderation course (Rhodes University)
  4. Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education and Training (Fort Hare University)

In 2019, she received certification from The British Standards Institute (BSI) for competency as:

  1. ISO 9001:2015 Lead Implementor
  2. ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and
  3. ISO 13485:2016 Lead Auditor.

Dr Mashinya is also knowledgeable about the implementation of ISO 17025 and 15189 Standards.

Dr Mashinya is the founder and Managing director of Institute of Bio Research and Training in Southern Africa (IBRATSA) an Academic Entrepreneurship that opened its doors in July 2019. Prior to founding IBRATSA, Dr Mashinya worked at one of the Universities in South Africa for slightly over 10 years (January 2009 to June 2019). In academia, she held a position of Senior Lecturer and served as a member of the Faculty of Health Sciences Research Committee and University Health and Safety committee. For five years she was a Project Leader for the Dikgale Health and Demographic Surveillance System site (DHDSS) a collaborator in the “Africa Wits-INDEPTH Partnership for Genomic (AWI-Gen) Research project, comprising of six sites from 4 African countries and funded by National Institute of Health, United States”.

Dr Mashinya as published 23 peer-reviewed articles in Local and International Journals. At the start of her working career, Dr Felistas Mashinya worked in Zimbabwe Government Medical Laboratories for over 5 years, before spending another 5 years in the private sector where she worked in a Food Processing Laboratory starting of as a Microbiologist/ Processing Plant Hygienist, before being promoted to Laboratory Manager/ Quality Manager and later to a Quality Assurance Auditor. The Knowledge and Skills obtained from her breath of experience spanning 20 years in various industries informs the Training courses that are designed and offered at IBRATSA.

Miss Angeline Mashinya

BCom, BCom (Hons), CA(SA): Financial Director

Miss A. Mashinya completed her High School in 2011 at PEPPS Preparatory and College, in Polokwane, Limpopo Province. She proceeded to the University of Pretoria where she obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting Science) in 2016. In 2017, she went on to obtain her Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree (Accounting Science) and CTA. On completion of her studies, she joined a Mid-Tier accounting firm in Pretoria to do her Articles of Clerkship. She passed her Initial Test of Competence (ITC) on first seating in 2017 and the following year went to pass her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). Miss A. Mashinya has also completed Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1 in 2018. In December 2019, she completed her Articles and was duly discharged allowing her to register as a Chartered Accountant with South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

In January 2020, Miss A. Mashinya joined IBRATSA on a part-time basis as Financial Director. She is responsible for the entire Financial Management of the company.

Ms Felistas Taurai

BSc Human Resource Management (Honours): Office Administrator

Ms Felistas Taurai is an Office Administrator for IBRATSA. She graduated with a BSc Human Resource Management Honours Degree from the Midlands State University. Ms Taurai worked for one year at the Zimbabwe Electricity Distribution Company’s (ZETDC) as an intern Human Resource Administrator.

Mr Brandon Kudakwashe Mashinya

BA (Student): Assistant Trainer

Brandon is an Assistant Trainer for our Self Mastery programme. He is studying for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Psychology at Pearson Institute, South Africa. He completed his High School in 2018 at PEPPS Preparatory and College, in Polokwane, Limpopo Province. In high school Brandon held  different leadership roles including being a member of the school Parliamentary body (Student Representative Council )(2014), he was a member  of the Cultural Committee, Vice-Captain for the Senior Chess Team (2016-2017),1st Team Chess Captain  (2017-2018) as well as being a member of the Senior Boys Cricket Team (2018). He also participated and made achievements in external Science expos (2014), Maths Olympiads (2014-2018), General Knowledge Olympiads (2014-2018), and Accounting Olympiads (2016). Brandon was introduced to “The 7-Habits of Highly Effective Teens”, at the beginning of his High School Career and he attributes the success he has achieved to date to living “The 7-Habits of Highly Effective Teens”. Brandon is a committed Martial Artist (Karate) who loves the discipline that comes from the practice of Martial Arts. As an Assistant facilitor in the Self Mastery Programme he will share his experiences of living “The 7-Habits of Highly Effective Teens” from a young person`s perspective.
